LAND(E)SCAPE

Seven international acclaimed young Slovene artists have their own agenda what world of art is all about. They don’t stop at depicting sensations or illustrating their mind flow, neither they care much for documenting or interpreting their life and environment. They are aimed for something bigger – they want their own spaces, their constructed reality, their very own landscapes. They fake spaces to become more real, without pretentious and without hidden objectives. With space installations and multi media landscapes they just want to create world where they feel to belong, where their problems, fears and hopes are alive and under protection. Iconographic hybrid spaces that they developed range from extremes like: depressing isolated wired net situations; fetish tourists waiting rooms; itinerary for junk-spotting in space; artfully distorted Galapagos island; secret live of domestic micro world; obscure virtual agora or architectural trans-figurative replicas. This artfully spaces raise questions, they provoke sentiments and cater for pleasurable experiences, but more so they offer us to escape to fake realities. Together these constellations build a dramatic art-scape which tries to catch the spirit of young Slovene minds and visuals.

Selected artists/art collectives belong to younger generation of Slovene artists and are nationally and internationally established. They are all trained as visual artists either in Slovenia or abroad (Austria, Great Britain, Italy, USA etc.). They exhibit their works extensively at different solo shows and collective exhibitions as well as festivals and have been awarded different prices. They live and work mostly in Slovenia.
